WPC Approval

WPC stands for Wireless Planning and Coordination. It is a wing of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Any foreign manufacturing, who is seeking to sell or manufacture its wireless electronic products in India, needs to get the WPC approval. Besides the wireless electronic products, several other related items are also covered under this policy and require mandatory WPC approval.

This approval is also required by companies who wish to import radio equipments in India. If the company does not have the WPC permission before importing the same, their products will get confiscated by the Customs authority.

For WPC-ETA

RF Test Report from any ILAC-accredited Foreign Laboratory or any NABL-accredited Indian Laboratory.The RF Test report in soft copy is needed.
Authorization Letter and ID Proof for Signing the Documents issued by Head of Manufacturing Unit.Any Executive of an organization in India can be nominated Authorized Signatory and Representative of foreign manufacturer in India.
Product Technical literature. Document describing technical details about product - like, user manual.
Company KYC docuements

Prepration of Credentials on WPC-ETA portal (DOT).
Submission of Technical details by RF test report.
Submission of GSR No as per the product.
Reply Filling of queries whenevere raised by the DOT.
Multiple visits to WPC office as per requirement.

Validity and Renewal

ETA

Equipment Type Approval (ETA) is given for a particular model and is valid as long as the product model is being manufactured without any modification. No renewal is required.
