
Copyright is a sort of intellectual property right (IPR) that grants the author of a unique creative work the sole legal ability to govern how others may use it. Copyright protects original works of authorship in addition to literary, theatrical, musical, and artistic works such as a painting, a sculpture, poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture.
How can I register my copyright in India?
Applications must be filed to the Registrar of Copyrights together with any appropriate documentation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The copyright process is separated into the following steps:
-Copyright Filing Diary Number Allotment
-Examination by the Copyright Office
-Disagreement Clarification (If any discrepancy is found)
-Registration of Copyright

3. NOC (No Objection Certificate) from author / Applicant.
4. NOC from the publisher (if work published and publisher is different from applicant)
5. Search Certificate issued by Registrar of Trademarks
6. NOC from a person whose photograph appears on the work
Cinematograph Film
1. Two Soft copies of the work
2. Demand Draft
3. NOC from Various Copyright Holders / Agreement Copy
4. NOC from the publisher (if work published and publisher is different from applicant)
Music
1. Two Soft copies of the work

Standard Costing
- Literary* / Dramatic / Musical / Artistic work : Rs 7,000 per work per application
- Cinematograph Film : Rs. 15,000 per work per application
- Sound Recording : Rs. 10,000 per work per application
- Cost is inclusion of official fees and attorney fees
- GST @ 18% will be applicable additionally on payment in Indian Rupees
Standard Timeline
- 6 months approx., if there no objection or opposition raised.
Validity
The general rule is that copyright lasts for 60 years. This period is counted as-
