Step 3: Factory Inspection & Audit

Step 4: Sample Testing
BIS officials choose and seal the samples of the products during factory inspection. The samples thus submitted are then subjected to testing in BIS-recognised laboratories and found to conform to the relevant Indian Standard.

Step 5: Grant of BIS Licence
Once all the compliance requirements are met and the product passes testing, BIS then goes ahead with issuing the licence.
Once the payment of a pertinent license and the marking fees have been made, the manufacturer would be granted permission to export the BIS-marked products into India.

Step 6: Indemnity Bond & Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG)

Also, the Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) is submitted to BIS as per the requirements of the FMCS scheme.
